In the Digital Age, the technological environment in which our society operates is constantly changing. With the growing influence of computers, the Internet, automation (Industry 4.0), IoTs, AI, and 5G in everyday life, individuals and businesses alike are facing many complex and technical questions that involve the law. It is in this fascinating and futuristic universe that Me Latreille operates. 

His practice focuses on Business Law in the area of ​​information technology, which involves data protection, privacy law and cybersecurity. His professional activity includes different angles of intervention in businesses which include, among others, prevention, compliance audits in matters of privacy (Law 25, private and public organizations) the development of policies and governance rules (particularly in matters pertaining to the protection of personal information and cybersecurity), the development of emergency plans, the assessment of cyber insurance needs, and risk management as legal counsel when a cyber incident occurs.

Me Latreille's practice also covers a very specific field of practice, that of compliance under the Proceeds of Crime Laundering and Terrorist Financing Act to help the companies concerned (real estate agencies, etc.) to meet FINTRAC’s requirements regarding the fight against money laundering and the financing of terrorist activities.

Given the above, Me Latreille is frequently called upon to give training sessions on these matters (some are accredited by the Quebec Bar and the OACIQ) and to participate in discussion forums as a guest speaker.
